Welcome to my first race recap! I have never done this before because I am only a pretend runner, so just ignore the fact that I have a million pictures and I might just ramble on.
From the beginning! I woke up on race morning at 4:30 am, I don’t think I slept at all. I was nervous about running a 5k, who gets nervous about that?
Most bloggers were running the half or the full, they should be nervous!
Anyways, I can wake up at 4:30am to go run with some crazy people, but I can’t even make it on time to my 8:30 am class….?????
I was up so early that I was the ONLY person on the metro. It was kinda creepy.
Anyways, I was the last person in the relay leg so I had a few hours to kill before I had to run, since it was like 30 degrees the other runners and I took over a small coffee shop. No joke, real customers could not even come in!
Thankfully I had amazing company, I was running with Joy an awesome bloggy reader/ blogger! We made two relay teams so someone always had a person to run with. It seriously was the best thing ever.
Joy was awesome because she let me do my own thing and she took pics of me the ENTIRE time. I kinda wanted to keep her.
When it was finally time for me to run, I had no idea what to do with myself. I was not ready to run, I had not run 3.1 miles since June! But excitement took over and I went on my way.
My first race ever!
I ran with Pandora playing on my driod, I stopped and walked a few times to stretch out my TIGHT shin. Yes, I took walking breaks during a 5k, but I ran slogged 90% of it.
But hey, I looked good doing it!
Best part of a race cheering people on, I would yell anything to anyone, motivating them to just runnnnn! The signs were totalllllllly amazing!
I won’t lie, I had trouble running, we hit some hills, but I zoned into my music and did it.
Best sign everrrrrrrrr! I am totally a Kenyan.
I took 0 walking breaks the last mile and brought it hommme!
Thankfully I found another blogger to finish with! Hi Mindy! She is an awesome blogger, and she ran a 1/2 marathon!!!
And just like that we were doneeee! Fun fact: we finished with the first female marathoner!
My team ran the 1/2 in 2:28 and between all 6 of us we ran a full marathon! We rock!
I am so badass, I got a medal for running a 5k.

Post race, I had fun plans to meet Matt, Evan, Anne and Gena for lunch at Sweetgreen! I was soo tired, I felt like I actually ran the full marathon, thankfully the amazing company woke me up!
We are all bloggers and all in school, we pretty much ruleee

Fun fact: Matt was actually my TA for calc 1, before we knew that we were bloggers!
The last meet-up of the day was at Northside Social, TONS of D.C bloggers packed the place.

Seriously, sooo many bloggers. I was done and ready for bed at like 8pm
So Evan and I booked it to the Alexandria Whole Foods, we basically sprinted because Evan had to pee.
And stuffed our faces at the hot bar.
No joke, I think we ate the whole thing. I was in tofu+ quinoa heavennn.
This has got to be the longest recap everrr, I am totally spent just writing it. And my spring break is officially over…
back to reality without bloggers and races.

Whoop!! Whoop!! Yes girl, you DID look good running that 5K!! You looked gorgeous at the end! I would look like a sweaty mess after a 5K. haha. So proud!! I see a half marathon in your future!!! Get to training. ;)
