College Times: 2 hour long Bio Lectures

College Times: Volunteering – Previous College Times post

Alternative title, how to survive the mind f&$% that is a two- hour- long bio lecture on DNA Sequencing.

First, start off with a SURPRISE repeat pop quiz from last week. Yes, the whole class got an average of a 2/10 on a pop quiz last week, so we got the same one again this morning….

No, I don’t think I did any better this time around. After the “surprise” repeat quiz, I set up camp to deal with lecture for 2 hours.

(SuperSana camp in lecture)

1) I sit in the back so I can spread out all my crap. Oh and I am near an outlet, I have to charge my phone which I tweet/record the lecture from!

2) I am a chair hog. I use two tables, one for all my multi-colored pens and notebook. The second table holds my coffee, snacks, extra scientific papers we discuss in class. And a foot rest. Sitting for 2 hours takes a toll on my back, and if I can prop up a leg it alleviates the pressure.

3) I eat to stay sane.

I clearly made myself at home for 2 hours because I spilled  Emerald’s Breakfast all over the floor. image

I don’t feel too bad because the guy in my row, tried to open his huge bottle of fizzy water and it exploded all over him.  He however, was prepared and had a tissue in his backpack. I am sure he has done this before.

Oh college life.

Haha this weirdly makes me nostalgic for college- camping out in libraries was most definitely my thing; in fact I elevated the experience while I was doing my thesis with a snackbag and my changing into my Juicy pyjamas…it felt like a massive sleepover!
