Finger Food

Growing up in an Indian household,I have come to realize that my life is a little different from the rest of my American friends.

Most of these differences were obvious, constant curry, the love of math and science. However I did not except to find out that not everyone ate with their fingers.

Most Indian food is enjoyed as a mixture, of rice, curry with various dips, vegetables and meat.

Eating with your fingers allows you to mix all the combinations in to one tasty bite, that same effect can’t be achieved when using utensils.

Eating with your hands is absolutely messy but oh so delicious!

Do you eat with your hands?

Time to celebrate the Friday with a giveaway!

The lovely people at Nasoya contacted me about a campaign Nasoya, America’s leading brand of tofu, is launching.

“Nasoya Tofu U is a web destination for all things tofu including recipes, instructional videos, tofu games and more and this year, Nasoya Tofu U is challenging tofu eaters to convert meat eaters or other tofu adversaries into tofu fans for a chance to win $1,000 through its Open Enrollment contest. Nasoya fans can enter their funniest tofu stories, photos or videos via Facebook or Twitter for a chance to win.

Nasoya found that tons of people are interested in trying tofu but don’t know the first thing about how to prepare it. Tofu U helps those new to tofu learn simple recipes and tips on how to prepare it. Open Enrollment encourages people to check out Tofu U for inspiration on how to convince friends, family members and others to eat tofu.”

Giveaway: You can win some coupons to test the latest tofu products from Nasoya including the pre-pressed, vac pack organic Sprouted Tofu with 12 grams of protein per serving. You can also use the coupons to try a few other varieties of Nasoya tofu, including organic TofuPlus, a fortified tofu designed to meet the nutritional needs for those on a no/low meat diet and with added B2, B6, B12, D and Calcium.

Wow, I had no idea that Indian food was lately meant to be eaten with your fingers! That’s really cool :) I read somewhere that sushi is also technically a finger food, so now that is how I eat it, which seems to weird people out ;) My husband is British so he insists on eating everything with a fork and knife, even pizza, which drives me INSANE.

I eat everything with my hands…my husband scofs at my cave-woman like ways but I don’t care. I TRY to use silverware while eating out. Unless it’s pizza, BBQ, wings or sushi. That is meant to be eaten with hands :)
