I Took a Nap at the Gym

by Sana on January 20, 2012

Tonight, I went to the gym, snagged a cup of coffee, curled up with a book and fell asleep.

Yeah, I napped at the gym while everyone else around me worked out. I was exhausted, in a bad mood and tired.

I know that is lame, but my sister needed a ride to the gym and I was just not into it. I told myself that I would go to the gym and if I did not want to workout I would sit and read. So I sat, read and drifted off.

And to the two women sitting on the sofa across from where I was sleeping , I am sorry you had to see the awkwardness. However, the restaurant you guys were talking about sounded delicious, we should do lunch sometime.

I promise I won’t doze off.

Ironically, my sister takes the same group fitness class that I took for many, many years. I would have been one of those people sprinting to the gym 30 minutes before class,so I could put my towel down in the front row.

This is what happens when you take a fitness class with hundreds of people, it’s addicting and the energy is contagious.

I have already taken hardcore fitness classes and most likely won’t be able to do it again, so I napped.

I feel like everyone and not just bloggers are obsessed about eating “right” and hitting the gym everyday. Yeah, it’s great and it works out well for most people. But I am honestly over it.

I realize that I am overweight, and I don’t eat particularly healthy. But sometimes I want to eat a cookie or six and it’s so great to not have to think, I need to run X number of miles to burn this off.

Because I don’t run, and it would take me hours to walk off all those calories.

I did eat my cookies with fat-free milk and they were delicious and so is fat-free milk, I get the Costco kind so maybe that is why it tastes better?

And I am not going to swear off vegetables completely  just because my body has trouble digesting them. I will eat them and complain about how bloated and gassy I feel, hopefully you won’t be at the receiving end of that conversation. Only my close friends get to hear those intimate details.

On that note, wanna see the cookies I am in love with? Move over future-husband, I have a new lover.

LU Petit Ecolier (so fancy)

These LU cookie people know what’s up. They pack up a bunch of cookies into individual packages, so you are not tempted to eat the entire box.

And it worked.

Girl Scout cookies are my sweet of choice these days. I already ate a box of samoas and a box of tag-alongs (cutest cookie name ever!). *

ahhh! Sorry if I offended you before. I just thought the veggie thing was an issue you were trying to figure out. Didn’t mean anything by it. I swear! :)

Loved the “let’s do lunch” thing and “move over future husband”! Too funny!!
