Did you know that yesterday the North East had it’s very first snow fall of the year? What is it about snow that even gets grown-ups all excited?
To make up for not eating a proper breakfast all week long, I cooked myself some eggs. And after I ate them I remembered why I don’t eat eggs on weekdays. I felt full and sluggish for four hours…
When I finally felt my breakfast digest ( hate working out when I can still feel my meal), I went with my brother to HIS gym.
^ I use the term workout lightly here, I am still trying to figure out what my body can do so I mainly just nap at the gym.
Yes, I realize that I look like a goober in this outfit, but we are slacking over here in the laundry department.
Since I was at a totally new gym, and by the way Lifetime Fitness is HUGE, they have a café and a hair salon, I decided to try out a new machine.
I am not sure what this stair thing is called, but I decided to try it out on level 1.
I lasted all of 5 minutes because I was terrified to look anywhere else but my feet so I would not miss a step and fall on my face.
This machine is clearly for the more coordinated.
For my actual “workout” I rode a recumbent bike for 20 minutes, did lots of squats and lunges and walked a mile and jogged .10miles in my VFF’s.
It’s been many months since I have done anything more than walk and it was a totally new experience jogging at a heavier weight. I did not feel out of shape, but I felt more of myself jiggle as I ran jogged.
Like I said it was all a new experience.
I think my brother had a great workout as well. He watched a game while I sipped on a smoothie.
Yes, this gym has a smoothie bar, it’s a good thing I am not an actual member at the gym. I would spend all my money getting smoothies.
For $4.95 I got the Very Berry Smoothie with Whey Protein Powder. Am I the only one who is confused by protein powder?
But I liked the smoothie, so I guess I like protein powder.
After the gym, I tried out my mom’s version of Lo Mein for lunch.
It was delicious and low on the oil/sodium, which turns me off from restaurant Lo Mein.
My big Saturday night plans were with my brother and mom, and we headed to Fat City. Aka The Cheesecake Factory.
My mom thought my brother and I were a bit lame to be hanging out with her on a Saturday night, but what can I say my family is kinda cool!
Hahah, but first we wanted to sneak up on my sister who was hanging out with some friends at Starbucks, we totally annoyed her by coming up and sitting down on the table next to her and her friends.
We even snuck up on her later that night when she was getting some fro-yo. hahaha we need lives, but it was funny.
On to Fat Cityyyyy, I think I read somewhere that The Cheesecake Factory has some of the unhealthiest menu options? But I really love lettuce warps, so I got those.
And really? I only got 4 pieces of shrimp. I am only annoyed because I have ordered this before, and I can count more than 4 pieces. The problem with carryout is that once you are already home you are stuck with what you get!
Oh, well it was still delicious.
The best part of the meal? Oreo Cheesecake.
Anddd we have arrived at Fat City. I never want to go home.

They have a hair salon at the gym??
That machine is called the stepmill, by the way, or the torture device, whichever you’d prefer.
I was too scared to even use it! I guess as long as I hold on I won’t fall off
Have you taken any group fitness classes at lifetime? They can be lot of fun, especially something like zumba or cardio kickbox .
yeah, I took group fitness classes for 5-6 years before I got injured. I miss them all so much!!
