The worst part about it being summer vacation is that I have no idea what day of the week it actually is. I was convinced that today was Sunday.
For the longest time I thought my bother and I were allergic to watermelon (we both have allergies and asthma), so yesterday I saw him eating some and they just looked to juicy and delicious. And I really wanted some.
I ate almost the whole bowl and I am breathing fine, so yay for not being allergic!
Hahah after I ate this bowl of fruit I had Oreos+Almond Milk. Apparently Oreos are my food weakness. I can eat 1/2 a box in two days!
Well yesterday was my last day of Physical Therapy, womp womp. Back in March when I decided to go back to a new spine surgeon, I went because I wanted a more active life. And I feel like I am at the point where I can be more active, but I will have to deal with my back issues forever.
I am ok with this because, I feel like my core is really strong and that if I keep working at it, I will be able to resume almost all physical activities!
Even though my last session is over, I have PT homework! I have to do core strengthening exercises 3X a week for the next 6 weeks along with any other workout that I want to do.
Today I spent a lot of time foam rolling, playing on the bouncy machine and doing some strength training.
Back at home, I used a tennis ball to reach some of the parts of my leg that are hard to manage with a bulky foam roller. Oh and some ice, because I was having some nerve issues and the ice just felt nice.
I read this article about foam rolling for runners, and I think everyone should foam roll even if you are not a runner (after checking with your doctor and PT).
Foam rolling helps me deal with nerve pain and it seems cheaper than a massage!
Do you ice? Do you foam roll?
