Another turning point a fork stuck in the road
Time grabs you by the wrist directs you where to go
So make the best of this test and don’t ask why
It’s not a question but a lesson learned in time
It’s something unpredictable but in the end
It’s right I hope you’ve had the time of your life
So take the photographs and still frames in your mind
Hang it on a shelf in good health and good time
Tattoos and memories and dead skin on trial
For what it’s worth it was worth all the while
Yesterday morning for our last fast of Ramadan 2012 my brother sang this song by Green Day, I thought it was fitting for what we all experienced together during the month of fasting.
Yes, my brother sings at 4am while eating. I will miss Ramadan for sure and I can’t wait till next year!
Here are some pictures from our Eid (holiday)- which is our celebration for the end of fasting, I am so blessed and lucky to be able to spend this day with my family and friends:
outdoor prayer. breakfast at Panera. Indian clothes. lovely family. delicious eats.

You guys all look amazing mashallah! missing you guys! Hope you all had a wonderful Eid :)
We missed you guys so much!
Beautiful photos!
Thanks, you can’t tell but my outfit totally ripped at the sleeves due to the beading work- some Indian clothes are soo poorly designed. But thankfully you can’t tell from the pics :)
Such a pretty family! Hope it was a great holiday.
Hahah, my family is pretty awesome, thanks!
So beautiful pictures, you look great !Hope you had a great day!
How did your desserts turn out??
ahhhhh great :) will post some pics :D
Gorgeous! :)
Can you sing as well?
Hahahahaha, I do not sing otherwise I would scare some people away.
You look beautiful and happy. Enjoy the celebration!
Thanks Dori, it’s actually a 3 day holiday but we call it quits after day #1 and get on with normal life :)
Love the photo recap! I hope Ramadan was everything you needed it to be. :)
That song ALWAYS makes me cry. It was the class song played at my graduation and no matter where I am or who I’m with, I can’t help but shed a tear when I hear it.
Emotional songs always get to me! I am a total sap :)
Your photos are beautiful! Your outfits are so colorful & stunning – one of the many reasons that I love Indian clothes. So happy you had such a happy & meaningful holiday with your family & friends :)
Thanks Sharon! I love wearing Indian clothes as well :)
Sana,
You look fabulous! I think we’ve talked about this before that I’m so jealous you actually get to wear your Indian clothes – my sister buys me saris every time she goes to Delhi because in my head I’m an Indian woman – could we convince my blonde and blue that I am?
