This summer was full of family bonding, mainly because my brother moved back home while in between internships.
I am glad I got to spend a lot of time with my family because next week we all go back to work and school.
We basically never see or speak each other when we are busy.
It was a lovely summer of major family bonding:
The other day we all went out to dinner at Mimi’s Kabob. Have I mentioned that we are a kabob loving family?
We literally never go out anywhere else to eat because my parents don’t like anything else.
Delicious. My mom, dad sister and I split a few dishes: kofta kabob wrap, boneless chicken and the chicken tikka.
Yesterday was my dad’s birthday. Now my dad is very health conscious and so for his birthday dinner we tried to make a low-fat, low-sugar, low-sodium meal….
Here is what we came up with:
Amy’s Frozen Roasted Vegetable Cheese-less Pizza ( SO GOOD). Tofu Salad. Alfredo Pasta with Chicken. Trader Joe’s Masala Veggie Burgers and Two-Ingredient Greek Yogurt Pie.
I am pretty sure my dad was thrilled with his birthday dinner even though my mom claimed that we had no “fun food”.
The birthday man gets what he wants!
(this is what I got when I asked him to smile for the camera…)
My brother moved back to college this morning, and things are already quieter around here.
Summer 2012 is officially over and I can’t wait till next year.

Those yogurt pies look delicious! Happy Birthday to your Daddy! :)
And isn’t the house always quieter when the boys aren’t around :P
We are all just sitting in silence…..
