Want To Feel Alive?

Go run up a few hills.

Tonight, was the 6th week of our running group, the program is almost 1/2 way over and I am so glad I made the decision to join the group.

After a mile jog to warm-up and some confusion about where we were going, we hit up some “hills” for a workout.

And by hills I mean a steady and torturous incline.

Some tips my coaches gave us to help us run up the hill:

  • No heel striking.
  • Run at a steady/slow pace
  • Keep your head up.
  • Imagine that you have a rope attached to your hips pulling you up.
  • When your legs feel tired use your arms to power you to the top.

We went up and down the hill about three times, and to be honest this was the most intense workout I have done in a while.

I am still getting back into the grove of working out and I am a bit anxious about getting injured/dropping dead mid run so I take it easy.

But as I was running up the hill, I felt like I was truly pushing myself and it was awesome!

After the run I met up with Kelli for some sushi at Asian Palace Fusion. Only true friends let you show up to dinner dripping with sweat.

I was not in the mood for a lot of food so I got the California Roll, and Kelli shared a sweet potato roll with me and it was so good!

After dinner we went to Mad City Coffee for a warm beverage. I got a decaf latte and a biscotti for some dipping action.

I am sure it was a million calories of deliciousness.

I can’t believe I actually enjoy  running up hills. I hate walking up stairs, and take the elevator any chance I get.

Seriously, if you find the old Sana-send her home!
