I have not gone running in over a week and I think I went to the gym once in the past 10 days. After working out consistently 3-5 times a week since this summer it sure does feel weird to not be working out.
I have no real reason for skipping my workouts, I am adjusting to a new work schedule and we had a religious holiday last week.
Like I said, not a real excuse.
I have been really proud of myself for taking care of my physical health.
But sometimes taking care of my mental health is just as important. A few days away from the gym won’t mess up any progress that I have made.
Unfortunately, we have had a bit of an extended weekend here in Maryland due to Hurricane Sandy. I am thankful to have never lost power during the storm, I know millions are currently without.
Yesterday morning I decided to make myself a hot breakfast and save the usual granola bar for when the power actually went out.
Scrambled eggs, toast, Emergen- C and a side of fruit.
And some vitamins.
I am usually a hugeeee slacker when it comes to taking my vitamins, but I have been remembering to take them daily for the past month or so.
I was hoping that this regimen would be enough to keep the fall cold at bay, but it looks like I have a lovely case of a cold and a sore throat.
Guess I will be away from the gym a bit longer.
Thank goodness for the comfort of Yogi Tea.

My thoughts and prayers are with those that are currently dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
