A Very Different Run

Ironically it’s 64 degrees outside as I am typing this post. However, a few days ago we were experiencing some winter weather here in Maryland.IMG_1592

In the past year or so we have not had a lot of snow here so it’s easy to get excited over a slight dusting/

Thankfully, the weather has not prevented me from getting my workouts in.

Since I have been doing most of my runs with other people I think that I have become used to running with others.

This means that whenever I tend to run alone, I end up with being very frustrated with myself.

Last Sunday, I decided to return to the scene of my frustrating run from the weekend before but this time I decided to bring along a friend.

And boy did I have fun!image

Not only was I having fun, but I was running slightly faster than usual.Screenshot_2013-01-29-14-30-44

The best part? I did not get lost!!20130127_174726

I often wonder why I even run. I am not training for a particular race and I really believe that I run so that I can have runs like these. The runs where I don’t worry about how fast I am going and just enjoy a wonderful view/company.

In recent cooking adventures I made the pasta and pesto that my brother brought back from Genova,Italy.Pesto

The pesto was light and delicious. I sprinkled on some parmesan cheese for a final touch. Thanks MJ for a neat gift!

How is the weather where you are? Do you like running alone or with other people?

You look fantastic, girl. I love seeing your happiness shine! I miss ya girl and so glad you are getting out there. The weather in Cleveland has been terrible! Up and down… nothing consistent. I prefer running alone, but don’t mind with people. It depends on the day, I guess.

Thanks Julie! I hope you are doing well :) I feel like I don’t relax and have fun when I am running alone- I love running with someone else to motivate myself and to be able to share the expereince with them :)

Hi Sana- Thanks for the help yesterday with the mic– I am bringing my own batteries from now on! I was also nervous because that was my first time with that many people… Also, I wanted to say I appreciated your previous posts on tips for becoming/being a fitness instructor! -Aditi
