Being A Tourist In Your Own State

Despite having lived in the state of Maryland for the past 23.85 years, I always find myself getting all kinds of photo happy when I see pretty sights.

This past Tuesday, I spent the evening in Baltimore, MD walking around the inner harbor. The weather was in the low 60’s and everyone was out enjoying the day.

I think I took a bit too many pictures, but really- how pretty is the harbor?

The reason I took the trip down to Baltimore during the week was to participate in Baltimore Restaurant Week.

Silo was our choice for dinner since it was within walking distance from where my friends lived in Locust Point.

As soon as we were seated we were handed a NOOK to look over the menu options- how cool is that? I was most impressed with the service at Silo. The atmosphere was just wonderful for my friends and I to sit down and enjoy dinner.

Supposedly, Michael Phelps also lives/lived in the apartment complex that Silo was located in. Baltimore Restaurant week was a way for Silo to welcome in non- residents into the restaurant and I was so glad that my friends had suggested it.

We were all able to enjoy our meal with minimal distraction.

While the dinner portion of the meal was good (the mac and cheese ruled) – dessert blew me away.

The bread pudding was fantastic, since I am a good friend I was able to share my dessert with my friends and try the chocolate sundae.

A huge thanks to Peter and Dan for a wonderful evening at Silo.

After dinner we strolled around the neighborhood to enjoy the decorations for the upcoming Super Bowl. Baltimore pride was in full force!

We finished up the evening with some warm tea and a round of my favorite card game-Nervous Guy!

  2. First of all– hi! I found your blog through the list of attendees for Blend 2013…. I am also going, and can’t wait to meet everyone! Your blog is gorgeous- I love all the pics.

I live in Boston, and previously lived in NYC, and I’ve never done Restaurant Week. But I totally should! It seems like a blast.
