I have this strange need to have all major life moments documented on the blog in chronological older- even when I am too busy to blogging. So here I am once again blogging about something that happened over a month ago.
Don’t even ask me why.
From July to August I fasted with my family and friends from sunrise to sunset for the holy month of Ramadan. It was a beautiful and rewarding month and I am already looking forward to next year.
Here is my lovely family eating at 4 am before starting a long day of fasting: ( They are going to kill me for this picture)
I always sat in the dark and on the couch drinking my mango smoothie.
Some mornings I would even eat mac and cheese. No judgment
And every evening we ended our fast with a delicious assortment of goodies with friends and family.
Always feeling so blessed and so grateful.
There’s always something so magical about being a part of something so much bigger than yourself.
As always, the Eid holiday is a 3 day marathon event spent with family, friends and food. The 3 F’s! I will remember this Eid in particular for a long time to come because we were able to spend it with my cousins who were visiting from overseas. Oh and because I was sweating profusely during (outdoor) prayer, even at 10 am! The sun was relentless and of course on the day that I could finally drink water during the day- I forgot to bring some with me.
Family truly makes the holiday time extra special.
During this holiday season, I took the entire month + some additional time away from exercising. Truthfully, I needed the break and wanted to reflect on the amazing progress that I had made over the past several months. I also took the time to figure out which direction I wanted to go in terms of my fitness.
Stay tuned to find out which crazy event I decided to sign up for! Hopefully, I will post this before an additional month has passed.
