Eid 2016

Hello all!

It’s been a minute, right? From June 6th-July 6th I fasted for the month of Ramadan and it was nice to just spiritually disconnect from my “normal” routine. Prior to Ramadan starting, I was feeling a bit lost and unfocused when it came to exercising and  eating healthy. It was nice to just take a month spending time with my family and eating semi-nutritious food that would keep me functional for 16 hours and 29 minutes of no food and water.

But, let’s back up to right before Ramadan so share some fun fitness events/accomplishments!

1. I RAN A  MILE WITH A 10: SOMETHING IN IT!!

(after that I lost my running mojo and basically crashed and burned until the beginning of June)

2. I took my 100th PureBarre class!

I felt all 100 of those tucks!

3. Took an OUTDOOR spin class! (unless I am forgetting something this was my first outdoor class and I am so in love!)

Bonus points if you can spot me in this video!

So pretty much after this things I hit pause on all things fitness and kicked it with the family from the pre-fast meal at 3:30am and the ending fast meal at 8:40pm. Obviously, I worked and prayed in between.

The break was much needed because I am excited about returning to running, barre, biking and swimming again! All of which I plan on doing this week.

We went to Eggspectations for breakfast before making the rounds to celebrate with family and friends.

I’ve already kicked off my return to fitness with 2 runs, a barre class and as soon as I publish this post it’s back to the pool for my first swimming lesson of the year!

What are you doing today?
