2016 is officially over. Did anyone have a good 2016? In my family we had some negative times. We lost four elderly family members this year. They lived long and relatively happy lives, however death is always a sad mix of emotions whenever it comes. So there was a lot of that this year. However, personally and professionally 2016 was not a bad year at all. Probably one of my best. 2017 or a new year in general does not mean much to me. I am always trying to live each day better than the last. But I am just going to keep writing and signing 2016 on all paper work that I have to do. 365 days is not enough time to get used to writing down a date.
I do know that 2017 will bring about a lot of major changes in my life. I will hopefully bring you along on some of those things.
A few positive things that happened in 2016:
- I lost 13.2 lbs during the holiday season.
- I bought my first car.
- I had an amazing year in my photography business.
- My work was published in a scientific journal.
- My back injury is in a very manageable place.
- Myself and all loved ones are happy and healthy.
I ended 2016 with a Taebo class with my sister:
I was very pleased when I stepped on the scale for my last weigh in of 2016. 181.6 lbs!
I did not gain any weight during this holiday season, and I am very very proud of that. I remember I was speaking with someone at a fitness studio shortly between Halloween and Thanksgiving and she was telling me how at that time for the year most people have lost all the weight they will probably lose for the year. Something about her comments inspired me to get my life together right then and there and lose 15 lbs in the final months of 2016.
197 is the highest I have ever weight and to have reached that weight this year is terrifying. However, I managed to get my overeating in control and have added some exercise into my life.
Have you guys tried the Sweat app? Everyone on Instagram is apparently doing. It is one of the best workout apps I’ve ever seen. It has every move in picture and video format so that I know exactly what I am doing.
I like that the workouts change every week so that I always have something to do at the gym. They are by no means easy. I have not even started the actual workout. I am doing the prep weeks to get ready for the actual program.
I also created a vision board for 2017. This is clearly my first time doing a vision board but once I figured out how to write the correct year I was really into the process of creating a visual representation of all of my goals.
I ended my night with attending a NYE party! There is truly something magical about a new year and a fresh start.
I will you all a blessed and happy 2017!!
