Crushing my weight loss and fitness goals!

So, here is a rare sight- me in colors other than dark gray, black or blue. I am feeling more confident and comfortable with myself due to this almost 20lb weight loss, so I am celebrating with some colorful clothes. I have not forgotten the feeling of stepping on the scale and seeing 197. But I am happy with where I am at currently with my weight loss despite having more work to do.

Weighing myself for sure helps me crush my weight loss goals. I am currently using the EatSmart Precision Choice Bathroom Scale and not only is it my most accurate scale it’s easy to use. All I have to do is step on and it’s ready to go. Plus it’s my favorite color!

Here is a quick recap of my week in terms of workouts:

Sunday– REST. I am so lucky that my weekend photography business is doing well. However, that does leave me with hours of editing. I did not leave my computer for 12 hours straight just to get caught up.

Saturday–  4 miles at 12:47 min/mile with the first 3 at 12:15 min/mile. Followed by a Taebo class. Running is FINALLY feeling good. I don’t feel slow and I am enjoying pushing myself. I would not be able to do this fitness and weight loss journey alone. Thanks to e-mails and texts I always have wonderful people to exercise with.

My rule for running is that I MUST follow it up with PT exercises otherwise I am not allowed to run. *knock on wood* but my back issues are no longer an issue.

Friday: REST- I had a photoshoot after work and I was still really sore from leg day. I am usually too tired after working a long week to also workout, however it would be nice if my job was more of a workout like the folks that do a sprinkler blow out.

Thursday: 3.5 mile run walk. Really sore. Really slow. But I am happy I got those legs moving.

Wednesday: Leg day. (personal trainer)  It was as if I’ve never exercised a day in my life the way I was hobbling around for a solid 3 days.

Tuesday: 4.01 mile run 12:52 min/mile. I had no idea I had this milage and this pace in me. It’s been almost 5 months since I’ve run this far and this fast.

Monday: Arms, abs and upper back (personal trainer)

I am really enjoying having a personal trainer that pushes me to try new exercises and muscles that I have not used much of before.
I really feel like I CRUSHED it this week workout wise! Maybe I will do something hardcore like a Spartan Race. This year they have 8 stadium races with new medals & lots of new obstacles. Additionally they have three different season passes for those looking for the ultimate challenge: an Elite pass, an Open pass & a Trifecta pass!

How am I doing food wise? I wish I was one of those people that could prep their weekly meals on Sunday. However I am not there yet so I have to depend on the grocery stores to chop up my fruits and vegetables.

I just purchase pre cut zoodles and add my own ground chicken, pasta sauce and feta cheese.

I would like to see the scale move down a little bit faster, so this week I purchased a food scale so that I can measure out meat and pasta a little better. I don’t want to over eat just because I am exercising a bit more. And a food scale will help me keep my portions in check.

I’ve been ending my nights with some warm tea. This past week I was enjoying 2-4 pieces of chocolate and while they are super yummy they are not helping the scale move down.

Be giving, forgiving, compassionate and loving.

  1. GIRL! You’re KILLING it! Way to go! And you’ve really dropped a lot of time in your running, right? I can’t remember exactly what it was before….remind me?

    You’re inspiring. Keep it up.

Thank you so much! Normally I am a pretty slow runner 14:00 min/mile when I am getting back into shape. I have never consistently been an 11-10 min/mile runner and that is what I would like to strive for :)

  2. Oh my gosh – 20 pounds is a HUGE loss.
I lost 3/4 in January so i have about 30- 35 more to go.
Cannot wait until I hit that 20 pound down mark – you are amazing!

I think I have 30-35 more lbs to go. I am feeling like all my hard work is paying off. My running is getting slightly faster :) We can do this!

Great job on your progress and for getting those workouts in whilst not skimping on PT! That’s so awesome! <3 The food photos are making me hungry again, but I already ate lunch! :P

    • Sana says:

Doing my PT is the only reason I can even exercise. Otherwise I struggle to even walk. Girl. I am always hungry!

  4. I need to have that rule about stretching after my runs! Looking good

I’ve been using hot tea to replace my nightly chocolate. It worked for most of the nights! I am starting to dress in more colors. But I love love my basic black!
