Love Your Job

This past month marks 2 years since I started my current job in cancer research. During these past two years I’ve realized that regardless of whether I’m having a good or a bad day, or if my daily tasks are repetitive or ground breaking, I truly love my job. I love it because I am driven by the importance of what we are trying to accomplish at my lab. I believe that in order to achieve greatness in the workplace you have to love what you do.

This is why I am excited to see that UMMC (The University of Maryland Medical Center), located here in the West Baltimore community, has launched a campaign to showcase why the award winning cardiology team loves their job. UMMC is celebrating #HeartMonth by spotlighting  the cutting-edge  research and clinical trials done at their flagship hospital.

As someone who works in the health care and research profession, I am thrilled to see UMMC’s everyday commitment to outstanding cardiology care. By serving not only the Greater Baltimore community, UMMC is able to treat acute myocardial infarctions and provide more intensive care beds than any other hospital in Maryland. Through the “Love Your Job” series, UMMC is able to highlight why the vascular center’s faculty physicians love taking care of their patients’ hearts. Watch the video above to listen to the UMMC cardiology care team share why they are passionate about their jobs and healing hearts. And no, they don’t do it just on Valentine’s day. That’s Cupid’s job.

What is a job that you love to do?

This is a sponsored conversation on behalf of UMMC for the “Love Your Job” Campaign. All thoughts and opinions stated in this blog post are my own.
